Causes of Pain in the Injury
The pain felt by each person can vary depending on the type of injury and the cause of the injury. Basically, the pain that appears in a wound is a natural reaction of the body through the nervous system, because of the stimulation of the ends of nerve fibers on the surface of the skin.

Apart from the wound itself, the pain can also be caused by inflammation of the tissue around the wound. As a result, the pain can be felt badly even though the wound is not too big.

How to Take Care of the Right Injury
Although it looks trivial and easy to do, not everyone understands how to properly handle injuries. Wrong handling can cause the wound to not heal completely, constantly feels sore with an intensity that is even heavier than before, also risks leaving scars on the surface of the skin.

To help treat injuries without adding to the pain experienced, here are some tips that can be done:

1. Clean the wound
Wash your hands first before cleaning the wound. When cleaning wounds it is recommended to use isotonic sterile fluids, such as saline (0.9% NaCl), or slowly sterile water (aqua bidest). But if it is not possible, then at least use potable water, like bottled drinking water to clean wounds.

The next step to clean the wound is to use an antiseptic solution. This aims to remove most of the dirt and germs that stick, so as not to enter into the open wound and cause infection.

One of the antiseptic solutions is polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB). The antiseptic substance PHMB is known to be colorless, odorless, and safe for treating wounds without pain. PHMB is available in various forms, including antiseptic sprays, which are easy and practical to use.

2. Compress with ice cubes
If the area around the wound is bruised and swollen, you can compress it with ice cubes wrapped in a cloth or a clean towel. Ice cubes can help reduce bruising, while reducing pain.

3. Taking anti-pain medication
To reduce the pain that is very annoying, you can take painkillers. However, you should consult a doctor before taking the drug.

If your injury is severe enough, do not hesitate to see a doctor. Follow the wound care instructions from the doctor properly. If necessary, return to the doctor for a re-examination. By applying the right treatment method, the wound that you experience can immediately heal and you can return to your activities as usual.
