3 Ways to Make the Most of Your Music
3 ways to get the most out of your
music lesson. Whether you are using a book, video, real living person or online lessons, keep these tips in mind for the best of our studies.
- Complete and master each section before moving to the next. As you work through your studies, make sure that you have won every new technique or idea before moving to the next. Lessons are planned to build on each other and try to continue without fully understanding will only lead to frustration and wasted efforts.
- Study as if you were in school. Do a homework every evening. If there are 15 minutes then use the 15 minutes. If you do not have time to read / view and apply, then apply your last lesson or drill like scales and chords. Reading / watching and not getting the opportunity to apply immediately means usually having to re-read your lesson. Take notes. Especially if you watch a video or work with a person. Do not be afraid to write about your workbooks and sheet music.
- Apply what you learned: play for others. Your church, your family, who puts a piano in your favorite department house (ask first). Nothing makes a music lesson better than a presentation at home. It will also increase what you need to work.
These tips work if you are a child or an adult. Playing an instrument is a wonderful activity.
