The circumcision procedure takes about 10 minutes but can take up to 1 hour. Before the circumcision procedure begins, the doctor will perform anesthesia. The choice of anesthesia can be through local anesthesia, partial body anesthesia, or general anesthesia that makes you fall asleep. If your doctor is applying general anesthesia, a breathing device will be placed over your mouth or nose, and your condition will be monitored during the operation.
Of the three types of anesthesia, local anesthesia is preferred because it is cheaper and has less risk.
