Angelina Jolie and her humanitarian efforts
Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt’s partner, is the star of several block movies. Among them, girl interrupted and Mr. And Mrs. Smid, coincidentally where she met pitt. But perhaps her best-known depiction as the artist Lara Croft, in the Tomb Raider movies. During the shooting of the first movie, many of which were shot in Cambodia, Jolie witnessed the beautiful environment, impressive culture and massive poverty of the nation. This, she said, opened her eyes and was her stepping stone in humantiary work.
After Cambodia, in 2001, Anglina Jolie traveled to Sierra Leone and Tanzania, and it was there that she was actively involved in humanitarian causes. The purpose of the fatal journey was to discover first-hand the conditions that refugees should suffer. Angelina was so shocked that she was shortly after being appointed in August 2001 as a goodwill ambassador to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, otherwise known as the UNHCR.
The UNHCR helps more than 20 million refugees in 120 countries around the world. They were created to protect and protect the welfare and rights of refugees. They believe that refugees have the right to seek asylum in another country and will actively try to attack nations to integrate and support refugees. So far, in just 5 decades, they have helped more than 50 million people in the world.
Angelina’s contribution greatly helped to generate more attention to this worthy cause. As a goodwill ambassador, her role is to communicate and to focus refugees by generating mass media attention. Although in Jolies’ case it’s not just superficial. She actually spends a lot of her own time and is really affected by her misery. On her trip to Ecuador, Jolie wrote of the suffering. People’s lives are really at risk, not only in the sense that you feel your town is unsafe, their lives are actually threatened and their houses are burned down.
To further public awareness, Jolie released several personal journals of her experiences during field visits. More information can be found at unhcr.org.
In addition to the physical effort Jolie contributes, her foundation with Brad Pitt, a partner named the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, recently donated $ 1 million to groups working in Darfur. Darfur is a region in the war that destroyed Sudan, which Jolie visited three times.
Jolie now plans to spend most of her time in humanitarian efforts, revealing that her actress divides her salary in three ways; a third for savings, a third for living expenses and a third for charity. Consideration she recommends a high payroll for movies as well as product customization, equivalent to a substantial amount of gift.
Jolie has two adopted children, and is currently thinking of a third. Maddox, a Cambodian refugee son, who she adopted in 2002, and Zahara, an Ethiopian refugee girl. She also has a child with Brad Pitt, called Shiloh.
Together with Pitt, Jolie said she would continue to promote and become actively involved in humanitarian causes, as well as to pursue her perceptive ambitions.
