Actually, the best way to prevent and deal with cabin fever is to travel outside the home. However, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, this method is not a wise choice. Well, so you avoid cabin fever, apply the following steps:

1. Breathe fresh air from the porch

To prevent and overcome boredom because you have to stay at home during a pandemic, you can go out to the front of the house or sit on the porch to just breathe fresh air, soak up the morning sun, relax, or look around the conditions.

However, make sure you continue to apply physical distancing with the people you meet, wear masks, and wash your hands after entering the house. If you walk around far enough from home, take a shower and change your clothes afterwards.

2. Create a daily routine

Even though you are working from home, you may not work on schedule at will or even just relax all day. You should make a schedule for work, study, or do other activities so that your daily routine remains organized. This method will keep you productive and avoid cabin fever.

For example, keep getting up and taking a shower in the morning, so that your body is fresh and your mind clearer. Afterwards, you can do your work, then have lunch and take a break from the same time as when you were in the office.

Besides being able to make you more lazy, work from home can also make you often overtime without realizing it. So, try to be productive in working hours and stop working when working hours are over.

Outside working hours, you can spend time doing activities that you like, such as planting in the yard, playing with pets, reading books, cooking, or playing musical instruments.

3. Keep communication with other people

Stay routine to chat over the phone or face-to-face on video calls with friends, lovers, or family who don’t live with you. Maintaining communication in the middle of this pandemic will make you feel not alone, so you can also avoid cabin fever.

Sharing stories about how you feel with the people closest to you can also be a way to relieve your heart and get solutions to the problems you are facing.

4. Consumption of nutritious foods

One of the symptoms of cabin fever that you need to be aware of is food cravings. This can lead to being overweight or even obese if you continue to comply with this urge by eating unhealthy foods just to satisfy your desire and indulge your tongue.

Maintain a healthy diet, so that your body gets enough nutrition. That way, your health will be maintained and your body’s immune system will also be stronger to fight germs, including the Corona virus.

5. Routine exercise

Make sure you exercise regularly even if only at home, so that your body is in shape and your mind is also healthy. There are many choices of exercise at home that you can do, such as treadmills, zumba, yoga, and muscle strength training. Do regular exercise at least 30 minutes a day, yes.
