Flexographic printing ink is applied to thermal paper
Thermal paper is cleaner than your standard ink, produces sharper resolutions, and is ultimately cheaper. Although thermal paper used to be much more expensive, the price has dropped in recent years, thanks in part to better technology that allows manufacturers to produce it at a more reasonable cost. In addition, thermal paper rolls are quieter than bond paper, which is an added bonus for each shopper at the end of a long day.
Most direct thermal paper requires a protective coating to:
-> Reducing fading from thermal images caused by exposure to UV rays, water, oil, oil, lard, fat, plasticizer, and similar causes
-> Provides better printhead wear
-> Reduces or removes residue from the thermal coating on the thermal printhead
-> Provides better anchoring than flexographic printing inks applied to thermal paper
-> Focus the heat from the thermal printhead on the active layer.
Thermal paper is paper that is impregnated with chemicals that change color when exposed to heat. This is used in thermal printers and especially in inexpensive and lightweight devices such as auxiliary machines, cashiers and credit card terminals.
The paper is impregnated with a suitable mixture of dyes and matrices; the combination of fluorescent leuco dye and octadecylphosphonic acid is an example. When the matrix is heated above its melting point, the dye reacts with acid, changes to a colored shape, and the modified form is then conserved in a metastable state when the matrix solidifies again quickly enough.
Most printer manufacturers offer ribbon / label combinations that are known to work well together, which is very important because some combinations do not produce images at all. Plastic labels with resin tape will survive outside in full sun, can survive in water and may be resistant to chemicals and oils depending on the type. Often used in the manufacture of Automotive and Airplane components, items that are stored outside and are important for labeling hazardous chemicals that must remain identifiable, for example, after being immersed in seawater for a long time.
The type of thermal paper you choose depends very much on your business specifications. The width, length, and level of thermal paper vary greatly depending on the manufacturer and the type of machine the paper uses. Many online wholesalers, however, can adjust your order so that you get the product you need to keep an accurate record of all your transactions.
