Halsey gives birth to her first child, this is the meaning of the baby’s gender neutral name
Windowofworld.com – Halsey has given birth to their first child but refuses to reveal their gender. The 26-year-old singer took to Instagram to share a photo of themselves with sweetheart Alev Aydin and their newborn baby, on July 14.
Halsey did not reveal the child’s gender, but did reveal an unusual gender-neutral name for the child. The baby was named Ender Ridley Aydin. The rare moniker comes from Turkish and means “very rare”, which Halsey alluded to when announcing the news to their fans.
The name Riley is of Irish origin which means “brave” and can be used as a girl or boy.
“Gratitude. For the most ‘rare’ and euphoric birth. Supported by love. Ender Ridley Aydin. 14/7/2021,” wrote Halsey.
Ender’s presence as the ‘Without Me’ singer prepares to release their new LP, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’, which is a concept record about “the horrors and joys of pregnancy and childbirth”.
Halsey posed with a photo of the two for the album cover, and later described the move as an attempt to help stop “social stigma around bodies and breastfeeding”.
“This album is a concept album about my joys and fears about pregnancy and childbirth. It was very important to me that the cover display conveyed the sentiments of my journey over the past few months,” they said.
“The dichotomy of the Madonna and the Whore. The idea that I am a sexual being and my body as a vessel and a gift for my child are two concepts that can coexist peacefully and powerfully.”
