Israeli will Destroy Al-Qa’qa ‘Mosque in Jerusalem

Windowofworld.com – An Israeli court ordered that the Al-Qa’qa ‘mosque in Silwan, Jerusalem, be destroyed because it was built without planning permission.

The court gave Palestinians 21 days to contest the decision or the mosque would be destroyed.

“The mosque is 110 square meters wide with two floors and was built in 2012. Previous orders were issued to demolish the mosque in 2015,” the Anadolu news agency reported.

The Palestinian Ministry of Religious Affairs in Gaza has condemned Israel’s latest aggression against the mosque. They called on the international community, the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to protect Muslim holy places and Muslim places of worship in Jerusalem.

Al Jazeera also reported that the Israeli advocacy group, Ir Amim, stated that the Zionist authorities destroyed houses in Palestinian territories in East Jerusalem. The rate of destruction increased in 2019 compared to the previous year.

In its report, the group stated, “A total of 104 housing units for Palestinians were destroyed in 2019 compared to 72 houses in 2018.”
