3 Ways to Treat Itchy Nose

Windowofworld.com – If your nose feels itchy constantly, there is a possibility you are experiencing allergic rhinitis. In addition to itchy nose, allergic rhinitis can also cause other complaints, such as sneezing, headaches, itchy eyes, and nasal congestion.

Allergic rhinitis is inflammation that occurs in the lining of the nasal mucosa. This condition occurs when the immune system overreacts to exposure to allergens or allergens that trigger entry through the nose. As a result, you experience itchy nose, sneezing, and other symptoms.

How To Make Sure You Are Affected By Allergic Rhinitis

Itchy nose is one of the symptoms caused by allergic rhinitis. However, that does not mean that itchy nose always indicates that you have allergic rhinitis. The presence of foreign objects that accidentally enter the nose also often causes nasal itching and discomfort in the nose.

To determine whether you have allergic rhinitis or not, consult a doctor. At the beginning of the visit, the doctor will ask questions about your symptoms and medical history, then do a check on your nose.

In addition, your doctor may also carry out investigations to find out the cause of your itchy nose complaints. One of them is an allergy test.

One method of allergic testing is to stick a needle that has been smeared with certain allergens into the skin on the arm. The aim is to see whether the allergen triggers an allergic reaction in your body. If you are allergic to this substance, usually red bumps will appear on the punctured skin.

By knowing what ingredients or substances can trigger an allergic reaction in your body, you can avoid it to prevent the appearance of allergic symptoms, including nasal itching due to allergic rhinitis.

Treatment of itchy nose due to allergic rhinitis

The main treatment for treating itchy nose due to allergic rhinitis is to stay away from the trigger factors. For example, if allergic rhinitis is caused by dust, then avoid dusty places. Also clean the house from dust, mites, animal hair, or fungus that can trigger itchy nose due to allergic rhinitis, but of course by wearing a mask.

In addition to avoiding allergic triggering factors, the following treatments can also be done to relieve itchy nose due to allergic rhinitis:

1. Nasal irrigation

You can relieve itchy nose due to allergic rhinitis with nasal irrigation. This method is done to cleanse your nasal cavity from substances that cause allergies or irritation.

2. Antihistamines and decongestants

In addition to nasal irrigation, itchy nose due to allergic rhinitis can also be relieved by drugs that contain antihistamines and decongestants. However, the use of these two drugs must be according to the doctor’s prescription.

3. Immunotherapy

Itchy nose due to allergic rhinitis can also be treated with special therapy, namely immunotherapy. This therapy is done by injecting allergens into your skin within a certain period and dose.

The goal of this therapy is to reduce the body’s immune system sensitivity to these allergens. In addition to allergen injection, immunotherapy can be done in various other ways that will be tailored to your condition.

Complaints of itchy nose that often can be caused by allergic rhinitis. To overcome this, you need to know first what the cause. Therefore, do not hesitate to check with your doctor. The doctor will find out what causes your itchy nose complaints and experience the appropriate treatment.
