Movie Review – The Brave One
Follow in the footsteps of Death Wish movies and this year earlier Doodsang, Neil Jordans The Brave One tries with every skill and talent to bring more complexity to the themes of vigilance and revenge. Instead of interfering with the viewers with the pleasure of looking at the wrong protagonists who go outside the legal system and take things into their own hands, it uses a big actress like Jodie Foster to see the conflicts’ emotions that such actions can yield. Eventually, even this story loses its value when it comes to investigating the actual social consequences involved.
Like the first Death Wish, the movie is in New York City where we meet the radio personality, Erica Bain (Jodie Foster), who happily lives with her fiance.
