Turkey Called Bahrain-Israel Normalization a Betrayal for the Palestinian Struggle
Windowofworld.com – Turkey has also criticized the normalization of relations between Bahrain and Israel. Ankara says Bahrain’s decision will deal a new blow to efforts to defend the Palestinian cause.
As is well known, on Friday, the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain officially agreed to recognize the state of Israel in a trilateral telephone conversation with President of the United States (US) Donald Trump and Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.
In a joint statement made by the US, Bahrian and Israel, they said normalizing this relationship was a historic breakthrough for further peace in the Middle East.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said that normalizing this relationship is like giving the green light to Israel to continue their actions against Palestine.
“This will further encourage Israel to continue its illegal practices against Palestine and its efforts to make the occupation of Palestinian land permanent,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said, as reported by Reuters on Monday (9/14/2020).
Previously Turkey, Iran and Jordan also threw harsh criticism of Bahrain’s decision. In line with Turkey, Iran and Jordan also consider this decision to betray the Palestinian cause.
